Sustain Mizzou needs volunteers for Tiger Tailgate Recycling

Hey! It’s the Homecoming Centennial this year, which is a big deal, right? Well, you can help make it an even bigger, better, and sustain-a-bler deal by volunteering with Tiger Tailgate Recycling on game day.

Maggie Holleman drives the golf cart at a game in the 2010 TTR season. We collected 18.6 tons of recyclables last year.

We’re working on setting up an official TTR tailgate at the tent (or nearby) with food, perhaps some games, but definitely fun. More info to come!

Shifts include:

  • An empty bag is a happy bag. Bring it on, tailgaters!

At 9 a.m. we’ll get everything in position. Bags! Golf carts! Signs! Our table! Food!

  • At 11 a.m. we’ll start the super-fun, high-energy portion of TTR by handing out bags to the bajillions of tailgaters. This might be our biggest tailgate ever, perhaps even bigger than College Game Day last year.
  • At 1 p.m. the Tigers start beating the Cyclones and TTRs start defeating all the recycling bins in all the parking lots. If you missed out on getting tickets for the game, why not participate in some bag-slinging with us?
  • At 3 p.m. (or so) we’ll start consolidating all those bags by putting them on carts and in giant landscape services trucks. What a great way to wind down after the game!  Seriously though, this is one of the best parts.
