IMPOUNDED: The MU Sustainability Office wants you to park bikes better

The MU Sustainability Office doesn’t want to impound your bike, but starting October 10, they just might. After an information campaign and hanging warning tickets on bikes, they may start cutting bikes that are improperly parked.

What counts as “improper bike parking?” Any place that isn’t a bike rack, including:

  • Trees
  • Fence posts
  • Ramps and hand rails
  • Light poles
  • Buildings
  • Other bikes

Download a map of MU campus bike parking here.

So what happens if your bike does get impounded?  Stay tuned for Part Two!  (Here’s a hint: register your bike with MUPD, especially if you plan to live dangerously and keep parking poorly.)
